I note that we appear to have had acouple of 'anonymous' postings recently that cannot be accessed! They show up on the main page as "latest posting" but do not appear in the thread itself or in 'recent postings'. Is this just yet another glitch or something more sinister?
Another 'problem' seems to be emerging - late surfacing of posts. For example I wrote a reply to Roger Todds whippet posting in the Modelling thread only to find an earlier repy surfacing when I made the post. It had been posted an hour previously but was invisible to me until after I posted my redundant reply.
This posting is entirely imaginary and if you are reading it you are badly hallucinating and should seek help immediately
"Sometimes things that are not true are included in Wikipedia. While at first glance that may appear like a very great problem for Wikipedia, in reality is it not. In fact, it's a good thing." - Wikipedia.
There was a post made by 'Anonymous' about 8 mins before this one (9:35 a.m. AEST 22/05/07) and again invisible. Curious, I thought that the best way to find out what is happening would be to come in as 'Anonymous'. When 'Anonymous' goes to post a message, the partial screen-shot below is what he/she sees. So, 'Anonymous', if you're trying to leave various dodgy web addresses or such-like, it's not going to work. And if you are legitimately interested and you'd like to be a member, join up. It's not a painful process.
P.S.: To whoever put this control in place, thank you and well done!
