Recently, I bought the Fiat Izorski (Armo 1:35) from Jadar (good stuff, thanks Eugene). I am eagerly searching for information on the camouflage and markings applied by the Germans when they used them in Galicia in 1917.
umm Ive never heard of the Germans using Izorski Fiats during WWI, the vehicle only came into service in 1917, I think, nevertheless I have lots of information on the Izorski, and I will happily look. I am glad your purchase worked alright.
from what I can find, as of October 1917 all the Izorski Fiat's were still in the Izorski factory in St. Petersburg, they did not see action until 1918.
The germans had one Izorski Fiat which was used by the Friekorps, it was probably captured in 1918 and they used it after the war.
the statement that the Izorski Fiat's were used in 1917 in Galicia is false, but it could have resulted from the confusion in the German naming of the armored cars,
the Izorski Fiat was named Fiat/17, while a different armored car (attached) was named Fiat/15
those could have been the ones captured in Galicia
Is there any other Izorski Fiat you would like to build? I will try to scan and post as many photos as I have of different vehicles
Thanks Eugene for sorting out my query about the German Izorski Fiats. It would be great if you could send me some pictures regarding the type I am building from Armo Models.
By the way, I saw your query on the Marasheshti armoured cars, and spent some time on the internet, unfortunately, I could not found any info on the subject.
