Someone expressed an interest in the Keil Kraft B-Type some time ago, and we established that Knightwing list it on their website but don't respond to enquiries.
I was in F and S Scale Models today. They got me some Knightwing stuff a while back, so I asked if K were still in business . It turns out that they are, and the distributors are Javis, not very far from me. Frank showed me their catalogue, which includes Knightwing's latest product list, and, sadly, the B-Type is not on it. There is a London bus, but it's a modern one. http://www.javis.co.uk/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=28&Itemid=116
Knightwing seem to have had the moulds at some point but don't appear to be producing any. Their own website says they are "out of stock" and nothing more.

I've e-mailed Knightwing about 2-3 years ago and said they'd soon be producing the B type again, however they repeated that when I e-mailed them again more recently (still about a year or so ago though). I believe their Foden C type steam wagon is also appropriate for a War Department vehicle, however that's also out of production
The moulds for the whole Keil Kraft range must be somewhere. A pal of mine who is slightly involved in injection moulding says that to produce a mould from start to finish costs around £30,000 nowadays. Thereafter you've only got the cost of the plastic and distribution to worry about. And if the interest shown on Landships in the Fowler and so on is anything to go by, you'd think it would be worth someone's while to turn a few out.
I wonder where the moulds are? Airfix's have survived for 40-odd years, in a shed in France if I remember correctly.

HI about the Bus hopeflly I will be doing a kit for the lorry and will use the chassis/cab for the bus and the pidgeon loft should be out early next year Barry
That is excellent news, Barry. The word from Javis seems to indicate that the whereabouts of the Keil Kraft B-Type are unknown, perhaps gone for good.
Please keep us informed.

James The Kiel Craft kit went out of production some time ago apparently the molds were in Holland as I said it is on the W^D list hopefully for early next year as I said the chassis will be used for various varients but I could do with some photos. Barry
