Hi!

I just recieved the Resicast kit for Xmas and immediatly begin the building work.

The kit is a real pleasure, highly detaillled with very crisp details, it is rather easy to built. The spoked wheels are especially nice :

I hope you like it.
All the best, happy new year and best wishes to all.

Ouch - 1:35 is really a scale that delivers detail... This one is going to be very good, that's for sure!

Hi guys!

Some more work on the Rolls :

Chassis details

Work begin on the floor and rear boxes, those parts are realy important to give some more strengh to the chassis.

Fuel tank and rear armored box

That's all for today, the kit is very detailled but eventually rather easy to built!
Regards
Gilles

Wonderful details!
Finally there is a chance to get an Interior-view of an RR-AC.
I tried to imagin how a cross-section would look like, but it did not work out verry well, I guess.

Could you perhaps make a picture, that shows a straight sideview, like I tried to create?!

Many Thanks in advance
Oirob

The detail on that chassis puts a lot of larger scale models to shame, and it's nice to see what the seat and rear bed actually look like.

Hi!

I eventually quite finished my R§R. all sub assembly are ready for paint now and i'll finish the assembly just before the weathering stage :

The only detail missing in the kit, I'll have to add from myself will be the renforcement on the sparewheels fitting device.

I eventually add a side pic to answer oirob. I hope it could help :

All comments Are wellcome

Great work ! I am very impressed by the details of the kit.

I am realy looking forward to see it painted. Will it take place in a diorama?

Thank you very much, Lostiznaos, for the sideview-picture.
This is gonna be very helpful!

I'm not a model-builder, but this one is really magnificent.
The last missing parts would be a crew. biggrin

There is a AC crew in 1:35 available, but unfortunily in WW2 style.

https://www.mala.at/product_info.php?info=p46291_1-35-British-armored-car-crew.html

They have to be customised. wink

By the way, do you know this thread?

Cheers

Thanks for comments and the links. I'd try to add some figs if possible, but it is not very easy to find any.

About the deco, my purpose is to depict a car seen in Irak 1919/20 era, maybe from the 14 LAMB

A few modif should be made from the original kit :
1) modified food step
2) siren
3) Spare light?
4) modified fender
5) modified tool box

The marking seems to be : O 256 White color. Maybe the "O" is a "C" the remain of HMAC
The little white marking could be from damage on the pic but looks like a small white elefant.

The camo is another challenge :

Basic color could be original light grey but Light brown too.

Dots seems to be in three different colors, my idea are  Light Green/Grey/Brown/Sand, in any order... I whould make some combo on an old kit to experiment...

Any idea or comment wellcome!
Regards

Lostiznaos,

The number on that car is "C^256". More properly it should have been "LC^256", but apparantly 14 LAMB "didn't get the memo" as the cars in this particular unit are seen in historic photos without the "L". In fact, most wartime photos of this unit show their cars operating without any numbers at all.

I have looked into WWI vehicle numbering systems and the "L" prefix was apparantly used on vehicles serving in Greece, North Africa, the Middle East, and India. The "C" prefix appears to denote a car. The prefix letters (or letter in this case) are separated from the vehicle number by an upward pointing "broad arrow" which is a hearaldic device denoting British War Department ownership. In this photo the light colored scratch or glare in the image partially obscures the arrow, but zooming in reveals that it is present.

Note the two different turret heights on these two cars and the lack of numbers on the car with the taller turret.

The emblem on the side is likely a lamb, the symbol of the L.A.M.B. units.  I am not sure why it looks like it has horns in the photo though.

Thanks you very much for detailled and comprehensive comments and pics!
I agree with you about the number. You're demonstration make sens!
I was a bit confused considering cars with the HMAC immo in the "Noperforce".

I've never seen the third pic, it is very helpfull to me! If I look closer I see :
- One medium tone as basis : could be the army mud brown. I guess it looks a bit dark for the nawy green and the cars are for a while in army's hands at that time.
-Two colors on the dots : one lighter than basis and one darker Could be sand yellow and dark brown or dark grey. I confess I was first in the idea to use a light green to replace sand yellow, but little hasardous!
256 paint scheme looks more confuse then the other cars paint, but sould be more or less the same, I guess.

The lamb makes sens too, to explain the marking on the side even if I'm not totally sure it is REALLY a drawing, not a damage on pic.

Thanks very one more time, I would be very happy to have your opinion about thoses ideas!
All the best
Gilles(Lostiznaos)
