Retrokit France kit quality?

I was looking at the Tracks and Troops website at the Retrokit France range, and the 37mm autocanon Renault 1915 and the De Dion Bouton with the 75mm AA gun on the back are very appealing - before I spend my hard earned money on them, has anyone built any of the Retrokit France (old Retromodels?) kits and can comment on them? I found a review of the 47mm Renault autocanon which was apparently so bad they scratchbuilt the whole thing using the kit as a basis, which doesn't fare well

That's odd I have ordered both from Blitzkreig haven't recieved them yet but will give you an opinion when I have. I bought the Renault some time ago and that was reasonable. For a plug the W^D French set relaxed poses goes ideal with both!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Barry, but i'm afraid the Renault will go in a diorama showing one of the scenes shown of Renault's supporting British troops (although your figures will probably be used for the British), and the de Dion Bouton is going to be an Anti-Zeppelin vehicle based in London! Looking forward to hearing your opinion of them

Barry, without wishing to go too far off topic, are the French and American engineers available to buy just yet? Is there an updated catalogue available?

And, of course, you've seen the Austin photos in the collection oirob has signposted for us in another (but related) thread.

All are available I am updating the list to include the 18pdr and the 4.5 Howitzer (gun crews to follow) will post one as soon as it is done. The images are brilliant and the video of the Thorneycroft with the A/A is just what I want as I just have another set of masters at hand.

Nice - I may be re-enacting an 18 pounder crew later this year if all goes to plan. I'm doing an event at the RAF Museum in a weeks time, are you after any close up photos of the Crossley tender or other vehicles?

Yes please especially the Crossley am having etch wheel insets done for the Lanchester and hopefully they should be OK for the Crossley (and all it's varients)

No worries - also been offered a lift down to an event at Milestones in Hampshire where they have a running 1916 Thornycroft J type - would those be any use to you as well?

No worries, i'll make sure to get plenty of photographs (i'll also use it as an excuse to sit at the steering wheel!). I'll let you know if I get to work with any other vehicles later in the year - and if you need any British infantry/RFC poses for figures, let me know and i'll be happy to oblige!
