Skytrex observation balloon

Many years ago, when I were a youth, I used to wargame. I was sitting here wondering if any of the big names from the late 70s were still around and googled for Skytrex, who used to make small-scale armour for wargamers.

Not only are they still there, but on the front page of their website was a kit for a WW1  observation balloon!

Looks as though it might make up into quite a nice diorama.......

I took a similar train of thought, andiS, and arrived at the Minifigs station:

in deepest, darkest East Africa.

That obs balloon looks good.

I don't suppose you're old enough to remember the old 'Minfigs Skytrex' shop which used to be out back of Victoria station?

As a matter of fact I do remember that shop; that's why I thought of Minifigs when you mentioned Skytrex.

I used to cycle there and spend my pocket money. If I was 'flush' I'd get the number 10 bus. The figures came in little cardboard boxes. I'd spend about 2 hours looking at all the figures and doing calculations in my head of how many I could buy. I was devastated when figures went up to 12 pence.
