Last night I was watching "For whom the bells tolls" with Gary Cooper, and in the scene qhere the nationalist tanks advance toward the bridge -near the end of the movie- there appear at least two FT17s with a modified turret. perhaps a post-war american modification? Anyway, it was cool to spot them in one of my all time favourite movies!
The pyrotechnics start about 2' 30" in. The FTs are, as you might expect, M1917s with the US pattern mantlet. The others appear to be Christies of some kind.
A review of the film when it came out on DVD said the special effects were good but the Tanks were "unconvincing". Pity, really, because they are genuine Tanks.
