Not having a great deal of luck with model companies recently......! Back in November I sent an order off to Matador Models for the first time, wasn't too surprised when I didn't hear anything for a month, but then a couple of months went by with nothing heard, so sent a letter asking if they'd received my order and to let me know if a long(er) delay was likely. I noticed the cheque I sent them was cashed at about the same time they would have received the letter, so either way I knew that they'd received my order.

That was a few weeks ago now and still haven't heard anything. Has anyone had any contact with them recently, or know how to get in touch with them except via fax (which I don't have) or post?

On the contrary, I bought some more Matador items last week off Scalelink - paid a couple of quid or so extra but they came within a few days with a note saying apologies for the missing items, they will follow up shortly

I don't know of any other way of contacting them except the 2 ways you mention. And I once tried to fax them and got no response, so I think the only method is snail mail.

Just guestimating the time frame of your order & letter places them sometime around the Christmas rush, when the Royal Mail typically employs casual staff to help cope with deliveries of letters; perhaps the order, or your letter, or their response were 'lost in the post'? I say that because I have always found them to give excellent service, and Peter's comments about them are similarly positive. Might be worth another letter.

Possibly some of the forummers who are also vendors (Black Lion Decals, W^D Models, Retrotracks, etc) may have a way of contacting them.

You might try contacting Scalelink with the problem, maybe they have some insight since they buy from them.

Maybe your next letter should have a solicitor's letterhead on it. hmm.

Cheers!

Cheers guys - Phil, having the order lost in the post would be the most likely option, seeming as on their website it also mentions that cheques aren't cashed until the order is ready.

Ron, that's not a bad idea - especially as I know a couple that would do it for the price of a pint of beer!

Three months on, and another letter, and still nothing! They're definitely still around as the website's been updated
