In the otherwise excellent vid of the scratch-built Little Willie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWsE3BuvPpA the gent says he decided to paint it in "Mk I camouflage". As you can see, the book from which he took his reference shows a Mk V, in what looks like Beutepanzer camo. Whilst assuming this is a mix-up, I've got a feeling I've seen this somewhere before. Anyone identify the book?
"Sometimes things that are not true are included in Wikipedia. While at first glance that may appear like a very great problem for Wikipedia, in reality is it not. In fact, it's a good thing." - Wikipedia.
The first link, of the Bovington Mk V, appears in one of the 'War of the Worlds' specials, about Tanks, and has very nice colour illustrations of the St Chamond, Schneider and a few others. Can't find it now, but I was surprised to see the camouflage too
I have a bell ringing that is telling me that the Bovy Mark V was painted like this in the sixties. I seem to recall a postcard and colour film of it on the Pathe news website in this scheme. I don't recognise the book tho'
Oh, I recognise the book now - it's a generic Tank book, a small thick hardback, sort of thing you pick up at discount book stores etc, have a feeling it was by Ian Hogg
