Future Releases From HaT
Permalink

These future releases are listed on HaT's site:

8159 WWI early French Arty (75mm)

8172 75mm gun M1897

8173 76.2mm Putilov m/02

8235 WWI Highlanders

8236 WWI Indian Infantry

8238 WWI Austrian Mortar
8239 WWI French 37mm gun
8240 WWI German Machine Gun 08
8241 WWI German Jaeger MG08
8242 WWI Italian 75mm Déport Gun
8243 WWI British QF 4.5 Howitzer
8244 WWI AH 75mm Skoda Mountain Gun
8245 WWI AH 100mm M.14

8256 WWI British Artillery Crew
8257 WWI Russian Artillery Crew
8258 WWI Austrian Artillery Crew
8259 WWI Italian Artillery Crew

8260 WWI German Field Wagon

And, not showing in the 'list' page, but still in the '1816+' page

82xx WWI Six horse train and limber

Many of these have already been discussed here, but there are some surprises in the list. '8235 Highlanders', '8236 Indian Infantry', and '8172 75mm M1897' being the biggest 3 surprises for me.

HaT have said that the new guns will be produced in hard plastic, and they already produce 2 sets containing the famous 75 in soft plastic. So this must be a new set, and maybe a new sculpting/tooling.

Hi PDA I suspect that 8172 75mm gun M1897 is actually the American modified version used by the FFL at Bir Hacheim, apparantly they had quite a few and it was very effective in knocking out German armour....

Canon_de_75_modele_M1897_used_at_Bir_Hakeim

The manual here is complete with everything horse and motor drawn and all equipment. PDF is large and will take some time to download...

US 75 Manual

I'm not sure if it was used as a towed AT gun by the US army during Operation Torch but it was certainly used in combination with the White halftrack ....

The soft plastic of the guns has stopped me from buying them but since they will be in hard plastic I will buy them for certain. Thanks for the information.

Hi plastic fan, the German and Turkish gun sets are gluable with normal cement and can be easily detailed as a result the crew are good too, these can of course be used with Emhars gun which if you buy the later edition is made from easily gluable plastic and approaching hard plastic in consistancy, first edition(emhar) were from some kind of PTFE or a variation and were ungluable and shed paint....
The Hät French 75mm gun glues well with superglue gel and can be detailed fairly easily, priming should be prepared with a spray plastic primer before you paint....
Soft Plastic is not a problem in itself, there are solutions with most plastics, but the quality of models can be....

My poor efforts

To complement Ironsides's famous 'famous 75', here are some other soft plastic guns (not just HaT) made up into good-looking models:

http://www.landships.freeservers.com/new_pages/lfh_98-09_105mm_model.htm

However, when the new HaT guns in hard plastic arrive, they look like they will be very well detailed, ready-to-go straight from the box (assembly required, but no converting necessary), and affordable (if HaT's past record on pricing is anything to go by). Interesting subjects too; Flying Pig, 37mm (US '1-pounder), 75mm Deport, 75mm Skoda mountain gun, and a Putilov 76mm.

Here are some suggestions for converting some of Hat's soft plastic guns into others.

A Conversion of the Rereleased "Airfix"WWI British Artillery into a WWI 13pdr

Conversion Of the Hat WWI French 75mm M1897 into the Schneider-Canet 75mm PD06 or PD06bis commercial sale model.
Building a British 2.75inch Mountain Gun for WWI

Converting Hat (Ottoman Artillery pack) 105mm Le FH to Schnieder-Canet 120mm Howitzer

Hope to post an update to the 13pdr soon. Then conversions to make the Schnieder-Canet 155mm / Russian 152mm Howitzer, the 2.95" or 75mm Mountain Howitzer & a Krupp 12cm Howitzer.
