Anyone got a drawing or photo of a 9.15cm Krupp Feldkanone from the 1860s - 70s?
I'm putting together some notes for the Rockhampton City Council about the Turkish gun at Mt Morgan. It appears to be an improvised fortress gun installed at Beersheba, Palestine and captured in October 1917 by the Light Horse.
The Beersheba fortress gun seems to have been converted from a 19th century Krupp field gun - the barrel isn't from a C73 gun since it isn't a ringkanone - the next most likely gun is the 9.15cm Krupp Feldkanone from the 1860s. Turkey bought a few hundred of these from about 1865 to about 1875.
The gun at Mt Morgan was assembled by idiots when it was moved - the barrel is inverted and the carriage is scrambled. I'm attempting to persuade the RCC to assemble the gun correctly and recognise its historic significance.
