Last Friday I was in the bookshop of the Welsh Highland Railway at Porthmadog and noticed that the Plateway press books Narrow gauge at War volumes 1&2 have been reprinted also Richard Dunn's classic Narrow Gauge to No Mans Land has also been reprinted. For those interestyed in the 2ft during the Great War these are the "bibles" get them !!!!!
just found this picture, but may be it's in one of your books already. Anyhow, it might be interesting. I found the steering wheel intriguing, though some railway buses in South-America have the wheel in the cabin too ('real' buses they are/were, converted for railroading).
Kieffer This is a pic of the Crewe tractor built at the Crewe works of the LNWR railway. It was based on the Model T Ford and could be used as a rail tractor (narrow gauge) or as a light truck. From what I have read they were not that good,in the pic it is on very light rail and usually used from a narrow gauge yard to tranport shells for the guns. This track was portable and could be moved to different locations easily.
