Hi all. It has been a while since I last posted but work keeps getting in the way. In this post I will show the things I had to do to finish the major portion of the sponson correction. In the first picture I have taped the door to the sponson but my verticle cut for the door was not straight. In the second and third picture I built up the areas I miss cut with various thicknesses of sheet plastic. The goal was to have the door verticle which if I had cut straight it would not have been a problem! The last picture shows everything sanded smooth and the door attached. Even if you make perfect cuts you will still need to add a little strip styrene to make up for the saw thickness. Test fit the door to the sponson and dry fit it to the kit to see how much extra plastic you will need to add to elimanate any gaps between the sponson and the hull. With this work done I will work on the gun opening next.
