This is the Airfix Mk I converted to a Mk II supply tank. It is base coated with Tamiya XF-52 Flat Earth. It is still far from done but it is getting there. I hope you all like it so far.
I airbrushed a coat of Light Earth with a little brown in it and it was too dark so I tried the Light earth straight out of the bottle and it looked fine but it was still a little darker then I wanted it to be. I finally added 30% white to the earth and this is the final color. I next plan to gloss coat it ,wash and dry brush it as well as paint the tracks a little more. Thanks for the kind words. I will try to finish this as soon as I can. I still haven't figured out markings to put on it yet. I am planning for it to be around the summer of 1917.
Superb. In fact, beautiful. But I must ak one thing; that you remove the exhaust pipe, so its more accurate. OK so that'll make it a Mark II, but they were used as supply tanks as well. Cheers, Hugh.

Actually, the supply tanks had exhaust pipes on them. Bovington's example, which spent some time as a supply tank and was the basis for the Airfix kit, does have one and there are photos showing the exhaust pipe fitted to supply tanks.
I still need to assemble some stowage and eventually write it up as an article for my club. I have made this with only sheet plastic and the Archer Surface Details so it can be made by anyone who has not tried a conversion before. Since I am having this model in the summer 1917 period the silencer was being used by that time. Some I understand were nothing but a tube to prevent sparks from being seen at night by the enemy. Almost all of my research was on this site and Missing-Lynx. It is simply amazing the help I have recieved from everyone on these two sites. I must also say the fantastic models by Peter Kempf are what really got me interested in Great War armor. Once again thanks to all.
