Yes I agree, The French seemed to have a vivid imagination, even up to modern times, there vehicles are odd.

I am also interested in the Land Torpedo's, I have been researching them for awhile. They gave birth to the Goliath of WW2 fame.....Very interesting subject!!!!!!

And we have to give them that, that their imaginative minds give birth to some of this Wars most succesfull weapons: the "75", of course, the FT-17, the 155mm GPF. Their Rimailho Howitzer used an auto-loader way before anyone else tried one, and it was they who introduced the split trail to Artillery.

So, in the end, you have to respect their wacky-ness!

ah, you have to love the pioneering spirit in those days, many of those amazing ideas are only just catching on (for instance hybrid technology was used in many early tanks)

but i must say that one tank looks like it belongs on a table of warhammer 24k table as opposed to an acctual battlefeild.
