I was wondering what's going on here, it looks if the breech of this gun has been taken apart for transportation? And if, how was that done, bolted, screwed? I guess some hoist and other equipment was needed, must have been heavy. The gentlemen on the picture seem to be Scottish, and Italian. Please comment!

regards, Kieffer

The gun appears to be a 194mm. Don't know what's going on with the breech. There might be some clues here:

According to Scottish Regiments in WWI, the only Scots sent to Italy were a Pioneer Battalion of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, in December 1917.
