Made in 2009, with the cooperation of ECPAD. Interestingly, it begins (after some advertisements) with yet more footage from M de Prevaux's airship - colourised.
Have now watched it through. Lots of colourised original footage, plus extracts from a number of feature films - Uomi Contro, Joyeux Noel, All Quiet, etc - but chosen with some care. I think there are some bits of Westfront 1918 and/or Stosstrupp 1917 in there, but, mercifully, no fake Tanks. In fact, no mention of Tanks at all, as far as I can see. All in all, not a bad job.

Thank you for posting the link, James. I've just watched the entire epic and I'm impressed with the quality of the production. It contains lots of original footage which I have never seen, or only seen small clips from, and the modern film clips are very skilfully blended in, in a way that does not detract from the original footage. The colourisation is subtle and for once does enhance the image rather than detract from it. The sound track is also of the highest standard. The speech actually matches lip movements in some places, the dubbing is perfectly timed to the action and this adds to the impression that one could be watching current news footage of world events rather than ninety year old celluloid. My poor grasp of French did little to detract from my enjoyment of the documentary and I recommend fellow Forumites to check it out. It's by far the best documentary I've seen on't T'interweb. Thanks again for pointing it out. Best regards, Tony Shephard aka jellytwig.
