Which modelling colour (pref. Revell) comes close to the shade of Green the Russians painted their guns in in WW1?

I've my 1/72 Putilov 02 ready for painting and believe the WW2 "4BO" shade is wrong for WW1. Thanks in advance, Pat

Hi Pat,
In all my years of doing Russian armoured cars, I have never come across a standard colour, they seem to varies from light grey to dark grey some even dark brown and different shades of greens until the soviet union started.
Hope this is of some help!

I would agree,  the colors are variable.    Some equipment appears dark in color to support the green application,  while others are much lighter; as per a grey in color.
I tend to use a baby-poop mild green for field artillerie(M00/M02) and a medium grey for corp level heavy artillerie and support vehicles.  You can't rule out the medium brown either as a lot of the late war(1916-17) pics suggest this color.
That's just me,  you'll have to find your own comfort zone.

Humbrol 114 used to work quite well for me, but Vallejo Air 71017 is also a good one.
