Scaled MarkIV drawings
Permalink

A short while back there was a query about the actual scale of the Airfix Mark2.5ish, I had some time to kill today so I thought I'd prepare simple MarkIV drawings to common modelling scales that can be used as reference to check scale.

If you print them make sure they are printed full-size by checking the metric yellow scale.
Printer setting can usualy be altered to size print outs.

Might do Whippet next. I've not checked but Whippet model look squashed to me confuse

This little island off the west coast of mainland Europe went metric in the early 70s to standardise with the rest, maybe I should have made it clear though!

The original has been edited

Don't ask me the Humbrol no. for Metric Yellow though.

Cheers!

So They Claim... I was still buying sheet steel in imperial gauges 10 years ago actually its a better system then metric 14, 16 and 18 gauge was my normal  stock and theres no real metric equivalent.... now I have to make do with less suitable standard metric sizes....

Cheerswink

Yes Ironsides, the steel sheet and wire gauges do give a good selection.

Aluminium still tends to be Imperial.

To quote Wikipediea

"According to the American Central Intelligence Agency's Factbook , the International System of Units is the official system of measurement for all nations in the world except for Burma, Liberia, and the United States.[1]"

In a past life I CNC programmed components that were Imperial one side and Metric on the othe!! cry and Imperial converted to Metric and then rounded up to the nearest Metric size!!hmm

I  convert imperial drawings to Metric to work with, suits me best.

The 3 best things to come from France is the Metric System, the 2cv and the Dover Ferry.

Only joking about the Ferrybiggrin

I'm rambling again so I'll be off,
Cheers.
