I have a question-off topic from your post. 

Did WW1 Tanks ever get washed? surely they were cleaned up for maintenance, Was there depot maintainance? Back shop maintainance?

I'm just thining out loud here and don't mean to detract from your excellent model plastikk.

 They certainly did and there are photos of tanks being washed.

here a Chinese labourer is hosing a tank. And cars apparantly too, plenty of water. And a horse is getting a bath. I think some privates at HQ were kept busy here.
