Cardmodel 1/25 K-Wagen

For the modeler with a taste for the gargantuan. The Polish publisher Orlik has announced the immenent release of a 1/25 K-Wagen. The model is about 50cm long.

Orlik's website: www.orlik-models.pl
Some images of the prototype build: www.konradus.com/forum/read.php?f=1&i=185728&t=185728&filtr=0&page=1

Regards,

Charlie

that's an interesting lead Charlie! Card models can be very helpfull for 'upgrading', as a template for other material I think, or scaling.
Orlik put quite some effort on its production, regarding the instruction (in English too).
Would be interesting to learn some more, do you (or some one else on the forum) have any experience with an Orlik card model?
I only have some but that's long time ago, with ship models, they are difficult I can tell, especially 'rounded' parts like bow or stern.

regards, Kieffer

I've only built one Orlik model - their T-37 - from memory it fitted together pretty well.
Orlik's recent models have had pretty good reviews.

Cardmodels have problems with 3-D curves but that shouldn't be a problem with the K-wagen. The price direct from Orlik is around 12 Pounds Stg delivered to the UK.
The list price is 40 zlotys - promotional price 38 zlotys. Postage is usually fairly
expensive out of Poland.

The Polish publishers have slowly been dragged into publishing English instructions. With
a good set of build diagrams the written instructions are a bit superfluous.

Regards,

Charlie

thanks for your review! I couldn't figure out the price exactly, and as Poland is in the EU I thought they had the Euro. I really must work on my geo-economic political black holes I think. Price seems fair though.

Not all EU countries have joined the Euro zone. There are whole raft of economic pre-conditions which have to be satisfied.

From x-rates.com 1 zloty(pln) =  $US0.34 = 0.21 Pound = 0.245 Euro

Generally you get poorer rates than that on credit cards (about 3% worse).

Charlie
