U.S. Field Artillery Museum's 10cm. Kanone 1904 re-paint
Permalink

With the new U.S. Field Artillery Museum at Fort Sill, OK there has been a lot of changes with the old Fort Sill artillery collection.  The artillery has largely gone to the Field Artillery Museum leaving most of the Native American and post specific collections to the Fort Sill Museum that has been around for many decades.  One of the recent improvements made by the new museum and staff is repainting the German 10cm. Kanone 1904 with a disruptive camouflage scheme.  I believe this is a good representation and resembles the paint scheme on the 10cm K. "04 in the Belgium Army Museum.  Unfortunately, the FT Sill 10cm K "04 is still displayed out of doors and is not yet restored but they are making progress.  Much of the collection has been moved indoors and some pieces partly restored.  Hopefully, their German WW1 artillery collection will get similar treatment if more indoor space becomes available.

The Fort Sill K04 reminded me of another on the North Side of Brisbane.
