Les Invalides 42cm Big Bertha Model

I visited Les Invalides last week to take some photos of the 1/5 model of the 42cm Big Bertha Howitzer.  To my shock, some pieces are now missing.  I have attached a photo of the model in 2010 - note the round attached to the crane - and one of it last week (2011).  This is sad, because the model is one of the last remaining vestiges of the howitzers.

That's awful, though perhaps they're just cleaning or repairing some parts? Fingers crossed...

Hi MLW,

Do you perhaps have a clear shot of how the axle and brakes are attached to the carriage and what the carriage looks like behind the wheels? That is the only part I still need to complete some scale drawings...
