It is interesting to see what it all looks like now. My wife remarked that it would be quite a fright to run afoul of all that left over barbed wire at night. it was very saddening to see all the villages that are in ruin and never rebuilt especially when reading the chapter in Storm of Steel by Ernst Junger about Les Esparges and then seeing it all 94 years later...
