I thought I'd fire up the new year of modeling, by showing lasts years finish, A dio I did for my nephew who is now in the U.S Marines. It is a little outside my normal modeling realm, but I think I did a pretty good job.(I did do touch ups before finishing, I only wish I had time and knowledge enough to do proper weathering techniques- for all my models for that matter and yes I know I broke the golden fieldgrey rule, but time was a factor. Those HaT figures gum up quick too, not so on the newer ones though; You drop one on the floor for two seconds and pick it back up, and it looks as though you found under the couch cushion after 3 years!) in the end I had it done in time for Christmas to give to his mother my sister in law to give him upon his graduation from basic training this month. he'll really appreciate it, hope you guys love it.

Hans, I used Humbrol 93 Desert Sand for the US Troops, I usually have it set aside to do horses for German Kurriassers, other than that I used 62 Leather, 103 Cream for flesh tones, and 84 "Mid Stone" for the webbing. I use quotations because sometimes colors aren't always as advertised. I had bought 84 for use on rifles originally, and the color charts I go off of are pretty accurate, but mid stone was way more green than brown, so I used it to paint up my Fokker triplane, and paint bases on men. the Helmets are my standard mix for stormtroopers, assault guns, and LK-II's; black 33 lines, olive drab green 155, brick red 70 and insignia yellow 154. Lozenge might not be as easy to do as dapple, but I feel It looks better.
BC312, Yes I hope he does too. He comes home for ten days after graduation, so I'll see him then.

Well My Uncle was a Marine, And even though he served in Vietnam, he always talked about the old USMC veterans he knew in town who served in the Great War.
