Looking at the articles on Landships II on the FK 96 n.A field gun it seems to me that the multiple articles should be collapsed to a single article and a new article on the derivatives of the FK 96 n.A created.
I don't claim expertise on the FK 96 n.A derivatives but thought with help from the forum members we could come up with a satisfactory article. As far as I can remember the FK 96 derivatives should include:
7.7cm KH (does that stand for kleineHaubitze?) - FK 96 n.A on lFH 98/09 carriage - would need images
Nahrkampf - survivor at Miles, Qld
7.7 cm IG L/27 - would be good to have images of this one.
QF 77mm Mk.1 - captured FK 96 n.A converted to pedestal mounts for merchant ships by the British. Survivor at Mannum, SA.
There is the 7,7cm K.i.H. This is the 7,7cm lFK 1896 n/A barrel and recoil with the carriage for the 10,5cm l.F.H. 1898/09. I have a sight-mount for one of these but it looks like no complete examples exist today.
Thanks Ralph - I found a thread on the K.i.H from last year. I think there's enough info in the thread to write something sensible about the K.i.H. It does seem as if there were about 20 or so batteries of K.i.H deployed.
I'm a bit stuck on I.G L/27 - there were reasonable numbers of these built/converted but there's a real derth of info on them. There may be a surviving I.G in private hands in Australia - getting images of it will be difficult.
