Thanks Michel, very interesting but I shudder to think what the price will be. I may just wait to see if a plastic one comes on the market !!!! I noticed on the Commanders site that the research was done by Helen Lawson so does this mean that drawings are now available for the tail-wheel assembly.

That's pretty damn exciting. But I can't help but notice how inconsistent the casting is on the tracks, and how sloppy the track sections were assembled before casting. There's also a lot of warping, either molded in or from quick casting. And as Paul pointed out, there is the price. Maybe the quality will improve? It's still got me thinking...
Indeed, very negligent casting resin ... Rivets should be two times smaller, track links is a small tragedy :) ... I doubt it will be corrected - it's a lot of work and costs .... I wonder what the price ... Andy
The photos you see are of first cast mouldings. These were done to help with the working out of the building instructions. Also to look for the very moulding issues you have pointed out. The final castings will be much crisper.
I think with any model there's going to be parts that you love or hate... but that is were the modellers art and drive takes over. Areas have been left at a more basic level for this very reason. Time has also been a factor, with a long list of new models to produce each one has a finite part of each years building schedual.
From the moment they approached me it has been a real eye opener into what is involved in producing a new kit. I was more than happy to help... even a company from the Colonies :) ... just to be involved with the creation of a new kit.
Personal matters have meant that my work on the plans have yet again ground to a halt. The tail wheel mechanism was built from my collection of photos, and talking through parts via email. I am still hoping to get to Bovington Tankfest which with luck give me a little push to start again.
Heya Helen! Despite what we have said toward the negative column, it's still very exiting and probably the best thing out there! I want one! What can you tell us about the rivet size and the track assembly? Will there be any changes before production? Will there be a female version? That's the one I lust after. Does that mean I'm a womanizer?
Of course you can lust after a female... after all I am doing the same of the Male MK1 kit on its way to me now. :)
When I have a kit in my hands then I will tell you more. Maybe do a few photos.
I expect a Female version will come along next year when I've drawn them up. So you will have to keep prodding me every now and then.
I simply must, must, MUST get to Tankfest. It will be good to say hello to a few of you. Probably be on a Sunday as I will be relying on friends for a lift there.
