Hi all, I am planning my next big dio board, and for the subject matter, I have chosen a German Feste, of the border fort variety, I am seeking DETAILED information on the insides, armarment, and any diagrams of outer works are useful too. also, I am interested in gaining info on what sort of prepartions, (earthworks, mines etc.) would have been made in the event of moblisation as in 1914.
greetings, Josh

Just from looking at the back artwork on that book I understand a great deal more now and can hopefully intergate the new knowledge with old plans to come up with a more accurate board. Thanks Guys!
One last question: what is in the exact center of some of these forts? is it analogous to French forts of a Central Massif or terreplain?
Greetings, Josh

well I managed to gain in dpeth info here: http://pierreswesternfront.punt.nl/?id=520853&r=1 and here: http://www.mutzig.net/pagesn/pages-cadres/page_c_index_gbus.html so the exterior is covered.
Now, I have about four turned barrels and some wooden spheres I'll cut in half to make gun batteries. but this will be a hopefully HIGH detail model. So iwould like to get hold of a model shop that sells these:
-1/72 commonplace accessories (Much like model railway stuff. tables chairs etc.) - Turned barrels of 5.7mm or close size -white metal MG08's (and lots of 'em)
Lastly, back to the thread at hand on the topic, any info out there on making model steel doors and other accents? also what type of AA guns were installed in the forts prior to WWI? or was AA a WW2 add on?
Greetings, Josh
