It's a bit heavy on the rust, but the model is stunning!

Nice model but that weathering is totally ridiculous. It looks like the gun has been displayed outside as a memorial for 50 years

without any maintenance. In reality any gun crew who allowed rust to appear on their gun would be on a charge and likely

would receive severe punishment. Bottom line - guns are well looked after by their crews - they have to be to function reliably.

Regards,

Charlie

Fully agree with Charlie, there is a lot of over-weathering in the 'modelling world' that ruins models - not only was equipment well looked after, but in most cases was at the most a few years old so couldn't get in the state some modellers depict them as - Tanks for example, by neccessity, during a war were new when in service, for example a Mk IV Tank in service at the end of the war couldn't be much more than a year and a half old at the very most.

Some of the most shocking weathering is in the aircraft modelling world where they look completely unairworthy and a pilot wouldn't go anywhere near!

That's a very nice model he's made but if it had been me I dont think I would have covered all that work in paint !

Great workmanship, but why cover it all up?
