Very nice, a fine painting and weathering job too. If I can add one constructive criticism, especially on the second and third photos it seems to sit on the base, there are small gaps under the track. If it was set a little deeper in the base there would be more impression of weight of the vehicle in the mud.
Having said that, one of the best Great War tanks I have seen.
Model kit is 1:35 scale from EMHAR. In addition, I made a top design from Evergreen profile, tracks are from resin PANZERSHOP, log to rescue is selfmade.
I konow about the problem with terrain, I used universal pedestal, because I have more models and I must keep them in the cabinet and bigger pedestals don´t fit.
I put the model on the pedestal to doesn´t lost in space.
This is a wonderful job, particularly the weathering (I assume you used oils for the streaking/oil stains?).
I am actually in the process of building an 1:35 Emhar MKV hermaphrodite straight from the box so this is good inspiration. If you wouldn't mind, would you perhaps share with us the size/part number for the Evergreen stock that you used for the unditching rail?
Also, did you end up having to replace any rivets on this during construction? I'm going to end up having to replace some on my kit to get the fit correct.
Again, awesome job, it's inspiring to see this kind of work.
I like your choice of base colour - it looks more like the tiny bits of clean paint that seem to survive on Lodestar III in the Royal Army Museum in Brussels; have you been to see it?
Although I have yet to see it myself first-hand, I'm getting the impression now that the colour used (at least on Lodestar) was more yellowy than beige - tan rather than khaki. In photos this can only really be seen in close-ups of detail; pics showing the whole vehicle show a more washed-out colour because there is so much dirt on the surfaces.
for color adjustment as a basement I used TAMIYA TS46 spray, in this layer I used dark brown REVELL 82. After drying I eluted the dark color off by thinner till stepped up the original light ground.
As a immitation of filth I used combination of black graphite + brown school chalk + distilled water. Whole lightened by white chalk.
L- profiles are EVERGREEN number 293 ( number form the package ) size 2,5mm x 2,5 mm from the shop for railway modellers - great material for elaboration.
I have not tried to replace the rivets yet for litlle experience, own labelling of vehicle - own production of the templates cuutted on plotter.
