Here is one of my recent models. It is the 1/32 Hecker & Goros Skoda 30.5 Morser. This is a great kit - far better than the ancient Superior white metal kit from years back.
The only required bit of refinement needed (in my opinion) is to hollow out the openings on the morser's carriage base. The kit has them blanked off.
The piece is only slightly weathered because I will be placing this in a setting and want to correctly blend it in with the groundwork. It will also have figures and wooden ammo containers. Only one shell is included with the kit so I will attempt resin casing for the first time.
Looks fantastic! Great build of a great kit of a great gun. I've never seen the old Superior kit so I've no idea how it compares but this H&G kit looks superb. Come to think of it, I've never actually seen one for sale.
Yes, I used Humbrol. I use these paints more than any other (but am starting to appreciate Vallerjo). In this case I used HM7 Khaki Drab straight from the tin.
Another excellent build! I have to point out to those not familiar with the kit, only two figures are available from Hecker & Goros. And the projectile cart wheel tract does not fit the loading rails! I'm most impressed with the scratched figures. Did you use Hornet heads , or pray tell, you scratched them too !? And the loader cart with the boom is a twist; an idea straight from the Bettungswagen ?!
I got one of the first kits released and it was missing a host of parts that I had to scratch. I've inclosed a couple pics to illustrate the track problem.
H&K experienced a good deal of problems developing and then marketing this kit. It hss indeed disappeared from their site advertisements. The Red Lancers carry H&K , but he's no longer listing this kit. The European source that may still have kits in stock is Doppeladler in Austria. They are a father/son team who are quite decent fellows. Good luck.
