Emher kits

I was wondering about the 1/35th scale kits they produce. My friend managed to pick up a whippet for very little money and I was quite impressed with final model. how ever, the less said about the tracks the better! So I was wondering what you all would consider a good starting point for a 1/35th kit and what upgrades or detailing parts are worth (or even essential ) for the kit. many thanks.

Is it the Whippet in particular that interests you, or any of the 1/35 kits?

When I get around to doing the 1/35 Whippet, i'll be using these tracks;

They do Mk IV tracks too

I'm intrested in any WW1 afv kits the reason I put down Emher is that I thought they would be the most common, and definatly the easiest to get for me.

In that case, it's well-known on this forum that the Emhar Mk IV tank has incorrect sponsons, with a squared-off back when it should be angled. By that, I mean that they stick out of the side of the tank at 90 degrees (viewed from above), when the sponson-back should be angled forwards - someone measured it off a set of plans they bought from the Tank Museum and mentioned it in an old thread: they specified 83 degrees according to their measurement - meaning the sponson back wall should be angled forwards by seven degrees.

I haven't built any WW1 kits yet (have an Airfix 1/76 tank waiting around), but from pictures I've seen, I would certainly go for Emhar's 1/35 kits. It may be necessary to make some alterations for accuracy, but I think as a whole their rhomboids look the part.

Thanks for that the info about the sponsons I didn't know about that. Sounds as though getting in touch with the museum archive's and trying to get some plans is the way to go.
