Preparations are already underway to celebrate the 100th anniversary in Cambrai in 2017. The Royal Tank Regiment will commemorate its Centenary and the Battle of Cambrai in Cambrai itself during the weekend 25/26 November 2017. The celebrations will be HUGE as every man who ever wore a black beret is going to want to be there including most members of the RTR Assoc. It is expected that the Royal Tank Regiment will be given the freedom of Cambrai during the town parade on the Sunday. The normal five-yearly events such as the battlefield tour and Cambrai Cup football match will take place on the Saturday, and the Louverval remembrance ceremony will take place on Sunday, albeit the main focus of effort will be the town parade.
