3 new small scale artilley sets from Airfix
Permalink

We had this in at least on other thread, but now that details are available I thought I'd open a new one:

77mm Fk 96 n. A., 13pdr, 75mm mod 1897 incl. crews - all new moulds. Currently in the sculpting stage so not to be expected in shops soon.

Excellent news! A pity that there's no limber for the 13 pounder though. It'll be interesting to see how the crews turn out!

Must confess I'm a little disappointed that they've omitted the limbers and horse teams and chosen to re-issue their old infantry sets rather than produce new. I think they've missed a great opportunity given the high profile that the Great war is receiving currently.

To be honest, the WW1 figures with the Old Bill bus kit were pretty awful - or so I thought when I first had the kit, and I was a lot younger and much less critical then. So no loss at all, if they do turn out to be missing.

We probably must get used to looking at Airfix as a company who has not been producing any figures at all for three decades. So they are absolutely new to the matter, all their 1960s / 1970s know-how on the subject is longer in the company, and the 2011 set of WW2 British set showed that.

Considering that, for me the glass is half full and I am very much looking forward to the three all new artillery + crew sets. Regards, Pat
