New German 3,5t Subventionslastzug truck
Permalink

Here's a new 1/72 German WW1 truck offered by Germania: http://germania-figuren.com/gx2/product_info.php?info=p2984_nacke-3-5t-subventionslastzug.html

I think it's a bit expensive at 32.50 Euro (resembling much to the surface quality of a Reviresco kit) and compared to the pricing of the wonderful Beck kits...

I notice that GB Modelli 1/72 Italy are also advertised on their site. They have a few interesting resin models at similar prices.
They even have a MkI for 42.85 euros !!!

The truck is the Emil Nacke 3,5 ton truck and the model is by MGM. The photo isnīt too good, but the quality of the kit is certainly far better than Reviresco. I will be adding it to my webshop soon, but it can now already be ordered at 27,50 euros + postage. MGM will be issuing this year a number of other WW-1 German vehicles, also suitable for scenes behind the frontline.

Michel.

Good to see some German vehicles coming out and a nice break from all these tanks

Yes, trucks and horse drawn carriages were ubiquitous in all theatres of war. Perhaps they are not as glamorous as fighter aircraft, or armoured cars...

Not sure WW1 tanks could be described as glamourous, but personally I find pretty much any vehicle other than a tank more interesting, or am I being too controversial!

To my taste, it depends. You can build a rhomboid tank model (especially in the smaller scales) and it might end looking like a crushed small cardbard box. It takes some artful painting and detailing to make it look visually interesting.

I'm sure I read somewhere that the Germans had only something like 25% of the number of motor vehicles that the Allies did, or maybe even just that GB had. You certainly don't see German vehicles in photos to anything like the extent that you see Allied vehicles.

Does anyone have any figures?
