I have recently received several sets of figures from W^D models and what delightful quality models they are. I have been in touch with Barry to see if figures or heads might be sculpted of 'tankers' wearing the leather protective head gear. He has responded saying that he has insufficient reference material to produce figures in the later tank suit.
So, I thought what better way of finding information and photos than to ask all of you enthusiasts for any material on the helmet and later overalls.
Please don't turn this into a discussion thread though. Many thanks.

I have a reproduction one copied from one at the Tank Museum, however issue is that they were so rarely worn, I haven't seen them
Worn after 1916 - and even then you see men wearing the steel helmets instead. Rob L
The steel helmet with chain mail visor was infantry, and certainly not tank crew - only in the dreams of eBay sellers and some museums (would have thought IWM would know better)
The idea is, I think, to convince Barry at W^D to consider sculpting some heads with the leather helmet (for Mk1/Mk2 crews) and figures in the tank corps overalls for Mk4/5 crews. So this is an evidence based exercise rather than for point of discussion.

There are so few quality figures in 1/76 - 1/72 for the Great War period and so many interesting subjects that have not yet been covered I wonder if more tank crew are really a priority for W^D? However if enough people here express a clear interest in purchasing a set or two then perhaps Barry might be persuaded otherwise?
I can offer the following illustrations - I also have the problem of needing a crew... I am not sure if the uniforms shown would be applicable to a Mark I though...

I cannot remember where I got the images from, so if theres copyright issues, tell me so and I will delete them from here.
The various photos I have, many are stills from film clips, suggest that for Mk1 period of operation 'normal' uniform was the norm with the leather helmet.
