Recently received the ex-BK Modelcraft (now Matador) 8 inch Howitzer from Scalelink after repeated watching of the 'Battle of the Somme' film. Haven't read or seen an image of it before so thought a few first impressions would be of interest. It is all metal and captures the look of the early 8 inch howitzers extremely well. The traction engine wheels in particular look very well done and much better than any other I've seen ie Strelets or the Retrokit 60 pdr. It even includes the limber, very handy as it means it can be completed with the Holt Tractor. I'll put images up as and when I get around to doing something with it, but at a first glance highly recommended and, in my opinion, looks better than the Strelets model of the same artillery piece
