MarkII Female from the Takom MarkIV
Permalink

Hi!

Some pics of my last work, now 90% completed.

The idea was to backdate the new markIV from Takom to built it as MarkII female deployed during the battle of Arras, early 1917.

The conversion isn't very difficult but claims for a lot of attention due to a lot of minor changes on the hull. Some was was taken from old Ehmar parts just to save the Takom's ones for another conversion.

The main work is dedicated on the new sponsons and frontal armor plate.

Regards

Gilles(Lostiznaos)

That's a great looking build!
Really an excellent work on sponsons.
Is it possible to know where did you find plans to cut sponson sheet?
I'd like to build a model like yours.
Bye
Pierantonio

You've done a lovely job making those sponsons, Gilles. I'll look forward to seeing more of this project.

Thank you very much!

To answer pierantonio, I use two sets of drawings, the fisrt one comes from a vintage "bellona" profile (female sponsons are correct but the male ones are awful!) and the second from the french "Batailles et blindés" if I remember. I add some measurement I collected during a visit at the Bovington museeum.

Great work as usual Gilles. Will you be finishing this as a specific vehicle ?

Thank you very much!

Regarding the finish, my first idea is to paint it as "perfect lady", my only problem is to find small enough transfer letters for the name!
If I cannot, I will choose any one but with camouflaged sponsons!
