Wagen 526, believed to have been named 'Alter Fritz' at the time of the tank action at Villers-Bretonneux (April 24, 1918). Seen here in May 1918 with only faint remnants of the erstwhile name and the (then) new number-in-ring between double Iron Crosses on the sides.
Thanks for the ID! I don't assume the photos that pop up on ebay.de are new, but this A7V photo was interesting to me because of the cast characters collected in front of the vehicle. With wagon number and unit known, I wonder if we will ever get to the point when we will know the names of most of the people in these photos?
