St Chamond caisson (conversion from the Takom kit 1/35)

I just completed this conversion. The idea was to use the Takom St Chamond M1 to built a "char caisson" used to carry ammunition and supply for the regular tanks.

The Takom kit is definitively a great model, but considering the pics avaliable, the conversion was a bit more complicated than I supposed at first : removing the main gun! In fact the caissons was built from the very first tanks produced and never recieved the spaced armour added on regular fighting vehicules, that mean it need to sand all the details on both to create new ones.

The tank is painted with the four colors factory scheme seen on most of the Caissons:

Many tanks was fitted with a device to carry trench tools on the rear :

Some details should be added on the hatches :

Tank with crew :

and some b&w pics :

Very nice model !
This is the french " supply tank "!
I like the way you have done the modifications , especialy the tracks " slim" as for first models.
Best Regards
Olivier

Thank you very much!

I'm completing the base, painting the grass and adding the last details...
I'm rather happy : I Haven't paint any fig or complete a display for my models since... 1983...

Thank you very much!
the idea is complete the model in time for the Saumur contest, and go on with a very early St Chamond proto.

Regarding the bolts, I mostly use an old "Pench&die".
