Motor Pigeon Loft Airfix Conversion
Permalink

I am new to the forum so forgive me if am covering old ground.   My project is to convert the Airfix Type-B Bus to a mobile motor pigeon loft using a couple of figures from Tommy's War.   I have been collecting as much information as I could find for about the last year or so before starting.

I downloaded Karen Rychlewski’s conversion from wwi-models.org, as well as the conversion article over on Britmodeller.  Both have been helpful and their results impressive.   I also found copies of the Pigeonnier Militaire article by Chatillon (pp 6, 7, 8…seems a page or two may be missing) and a the original article by D.J. McHenry in the July 69 Airfix Magazine.

The problem seems to be a lack of information for the interior of these mobile lofts.  The two builds mentioned above look convincing enough but apparently the interiors are more or less best guess by the individual builders.

Does anyone really know how these mobile lofts were arranged or furnished inside the lower cabin and loft?   Another question would be the serial numbers of these buses.   The only number I am sure of is B2132 (WD 2229) shown in one photo.

Thanks

Rick in Virginia
