60 railway during the great war!

Just back from the annual Saumur exhibition where I bought some kits as usual, I turn to a long range projet depicting the military narrow gauge railway.

As far I know, two companies offer materials : Blitz models (Péchot and Decauville) and U models (Péchot).

My first one will be 3 boxes from Blitz :

A rather simple kit with few parts

Quite the same converted to carry 28TR amo

Ammunitions are avaliable in a separate ref

Much more ambitious, the Marchand crane

More parts, more work, but an interesting model that U-model will produce from itself too.

The idea is to use the full range of vehicules in a display dedicated to the supply during the war and I hope I could found some british materiel too. The english narrow gauge railway is different enough from the french one to make an interesting comparaison!

Hello!
Not a lot of time for modelling, but I eventually completed my first narrow gauge truck : the Pechot "modèle Suippes. It will be used along with the crane.

Rather easy to assemble and needing very few improvements. I will turn to the crane now.

I found this site that has a couple of 1/35 scale locomotives. http://www.ossynths.nl/photos-locomotives#  But this area is still a bit grey for me, so not sure what all nationalities used etc etc.

Paul.

Thanks a lot Paul!
I will look.

After some time, I completed the crane and decide to display both vehicles in travel position :

Truck and crane along with a fig to give some scale :

Definitively easy to built even if there are few details missing especially on the carriage. I allready try to fix some of them...
