I read that the Tamiya Mark IV Male tank is actually more accurate and easier to build than Takom's, according to the reviews I've read.  Does anyone agree or disagree?

As for accuracy and detail, I disagree. There are only three points on the Takom Mark IV which have errors (the rivet line on the lower front plate, the dimension of the rear turret hatch, and the missing covers of the roller access holes). These can be fixed easily. The shape and total dimensions are spot-on.

The Tamiya Mark IV is more simplified in details, misses some rivet lines (also on the lower front plates) and has the unditching beam rails split in parts for battery access. It also misses the cover plates for the roller access holes.

The track of the Takom kit is more accurate but a bit tedious to build, but Takom offers a Tamiya-like track as addition.

I did not buy the Tamiya kit after seeing the pictures online but built the Takom kit, see here:

I can highly recommend it.

Cheers,
Thorsten
