It's about 10 years since Strelets told us that the Austro-Hungarian Honved cavalry were "coming soon." The excellent Caesar French Infantry aren't far behind. We saw the masters years ago. Does anyone have any idea what is likely to happen?

"We don'thave exact plans for the Honved release date at the moment, however we can assure you, that they will be definitely released, since interest towards WWI is quite stable and strong.
Best regards,
Strelets"

Unfortunately, Caesar (or should it be Kaiser?) seem to be concentrating on the Naziphile market - it appears there are 5 more Third Reich products on the way including Germans marching. The French Infantry and the Dutch WW2 would have been important sets but Nazi products sells

Absolutely. It's the same with AFVs, as we all know. Pegasus had on their website a wonderful master of a 1939 Polish Uhlan that would have made an excellent WWI French lancer, but it's disappeared.

Pegasus had trouble getting the Polish horses correct. Then the economy slowed and figures sales slowed way down. So their plastic figure plans are on the back burner for now. However, Pegasus is working on a 1/72nd scale WWI boardgame. The figures are very nice. Progress is slow, but moving forward.
Here is why WWII Germans sell well.
People who collect British army figures need Germans as wargame opponents.
People who collect Russian army figures need Germans as wargame opponents.
People who collect American army figures need Germans as wargame opponents.
People who collect French army figures need Germans as wargame opponents.
People who play North Africa need Germans as wargame opponents.
The Germans fought WWII for a long time and their uniforms and weapons mix was different every year.
The Germans also had a wide range of organizations that used special weapons and unique uniforms and equipment.
I have posed a few photos of the Pegasus WWI boardgame figures on my blog.
