Years of arguing that there was no such thing, gun, inventor, company, or anything at all called Sokol flashed before my eyes.
Fortunately , it turns out that a Sokol suit is worn by cosmonauts. And there wasn't someone called Sokol whose forebears might have made 57mm guns at one time. "Sokol" is the anglicised pronunciation of the Russian word for "falcon."
