Thanks for letting us know Stephen. However interesting the Tanks themselves are, it is good to reflect on the men who put themselves through hell getting the things to work and fight in the Great War.
This being the hundred years anniversary of the first use of Tanks in action, I'm hoping the MK1 at Bovington is finally rescued from it's dark, rather tatty display area. Just some better lighting and repair work to its surroundings would be a good start. I know they're working on improving the World War One Hall, can't wait to see what they've done when I go there later in the year.
I made my first visit to Bovington a few days ago, and would certainly hope that some effort may be made to improve access to the Mk1 in particular, which is "displayed" in a deplorable manner. If you are going there consider taking a powerful torch!
