Thanks guys, the temptation to choo, choo it around the work bench is almost overwelming, however as it's not a steam train I guess it wouldn't choo, choo anyway!

Made some progress last night on the footplate, finished the beading on the side door and have the basic cab back made... more to follow. Â
Footplate has a bit more detail and is just waiting for rivets. The cab sides, front and rear are made they just need detailing and are temporarily held together with blu-tack to check it all fits together... looks like the cab could lose about 0.5mm at the back to allow the footplate to sit flush.
There's still the small items left to do like the brakes, exhaust funnel/flap, buffers etc. but the main parts are there... the back of the cab reminds me of a minion!
Thanks for the pics Barry... the more pictures I see of them the more I think no two were the same! The number of variations is incredible especially in cab and wheel styles.
Mine's based on the most common (at least in the images I have) 12hp version with blanked off cab windows and sliding side doors, usually seen open. Â Â

Has anyone else noticed "new and improved" seems to mean it doesn't work as well as it used to?
So here's the latest, as you can see I've been having a riveting time (yes I know my puns are getting worse!)Â
It's very close to being finished now, the door runners need to be added to the cab sides, the buffers need to be made and some controls for inside the cab... I think that's it?Â
The door runners have been added to the cab sides, some insanely small brakes made and the brake wheel and some small controls have been done for the cab. So that's just the buffer/shackle type things for the front and back left to do... it's been such a quick build I think there may have to be another light railway loco in my future  Â
Well that's it more or less ready for moulding. This has to be the quickest master I've ever built roughly 20 days start to finish, guess I must have felt inspired
I won't be making handles for the sliding side panels as they would have to be grossly over scale to make them mouldable and would be far simpler to make out of thin wire which could come with the kit.

Looks a bit more like a loco now, I've left the cab off for the moment so I can prime and paint inside first then assemble the cab and paint the outside... that's the plan anyway!

Well it's in the base colour now and had a gloss coat and decals applied ready for weathering before a final matt coat. I've also made a start on a brigadewagen so it's got something to tow around.Â
The wagon is still underway and I've started work on the bogies. As you can see everything is ridiculously small, I think these are the smallest leafsprings I've ever made.Â
