Mark V* and 26,5'' tracks

I have a MkV* and Panzershop 26.5'' tracks. In order to use them do I have to pack the sprocket and ideler wheel out so that the track fits neatly between the outer and inner half of the tank body? The panzershop track came with the conversion for the MkV* and is not illustrated in the instructions. Thanks Regards Brian

Brian, I hope I am reading your post correctly. If I understand your question then 'no' - no packing should be required. The width of the track horns does not change with the width of the tracks. The track plates are wider to provide a bigger contact surface and therefore lessen the ground pressure of the tank. The track plates extend considerably each side of the track horns - by which I mean inwards towards the drivers cab sides and outwards towards the sponsons. I am not sure what the moulding of the inner face of the panzershop tracks is like and how easy they are to allign correctly over the running gear, but if you Google for pictures of Bovington's Mk.V* Female you will see clearly how wide the tracks are and how they should look fitted.

I hope this helps.

Hi

Many Thanks for the reply, your understood me correctly.

I was stumped by this and choose to fit the original smaller track instead. I will however take your advise when I come back to this subject.

Cheers
