Hello

Can anyone tell me where the stowage boxes of the Whippet Mk a were made of?

were it steelplated boxes or were the sides made of woorden planks ?

Is it a stupid question or does nobody know ?

When I did some searching I found out that  many of the Whippets didn't have those stowage boxes at all ,

and when they do have them , it looks like solid plates  instead of wooden planks{ see attachment)

The only times I see wooden boxes is on models of the Whippet

Hence my question.......

It's not a stupid question at all.

Looking through my photographs it appears to me that the box is made up with angle iron edges and sides (and presumably floor) made of wood. However I would not wish to be categorical that this is the case.

Hello

Yes , I have same opinion as Gwyn , it seems that it is a frame of angle iron ( see picture) . Remain seems to be wood.

Best regards

Olivier
