I'm assuming white walls and ceiling, but what about the floor, seats, etc.? The illustration on the cover of the Osprey book shows a grey floor and a yellow gun. I thought it was colored that way for contrast in the picture, but I'm uncertain how accurate the painting directions are on the Meng kit instructions.
The yellow gun was a feature of the replica built for the Panzermuseum at Munster, Germany. It has no historical reference, but was wildly copied by illustrators at the time. White seems to have been restricted to walls and ceiling. Gun, ammo box and command turret were painted in a drab colour, presumably the popular grey again (although on 529 "Nixe II" the gun socle seems to have been painted white). The seats were also drab, as were the floor plates; I would suggest a rusty-dirty tone for the latter.

Thanks. I knew better than to trust the kit painting instructions. I got suspicious based on the fact that other types of tanks had white walls and ceiling but a dark floor.
There is a Prime Portal walkaround of Mephisto, but unfortunately they only provided exterior shots.
as one who has been in side the famous survivor, Mephisto A7V, in 1971, when it was outside the Queenland Museum long before its "restoration" and dunking in the Brisbane floods...
I could not see much evidence for any paint, other than any anti rust under coat... certainly no evidence of any white or black...
I have put all my surviving images (lost all the colour ones) on my facebook album page. unfortunately all B&W which does not help prove my point...
